Background

Personal Profile

With a passion for real estate, I leverage a technical background in mechanical engineering to apply a problem solving approach to the built environment.

Upon completing my B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder, I took a position in New York working for an MEP firm. The smaller size of the firm allowed for growth and exposure to all the trades, along with exposure to clients. Understanding the client's needs and expectations propelled me to a project manager role. The firm's prestige provided exposure to various asset classes including multi-family, student housing, hospitality, retail, and industrial.

After a rewarding career working for a smaller firm, I transitioned to Arup which has a global presence and prides itself with the challenging projects it takes on. While working at Arup, I brought value through my high-rise experience across the multi-family and office markets. I was further challenged with implementing sustainability concepts in projects due to the firm's commitment and the focus on carbon emissions within the built environment. The projects I worked on ranged from airports, multi-family buildings, office buildings, and a corporate campus; working in various jurisdictions and adapting to different building codes.

During my time at Arup, I began evening classes towards my master's in real estate development at NYU. Knowing I needed real estate experience to supplement my degree, I began a position with Bayshore working on my off-nights and weekends. This allowed me to implement my coursework into real-world experience and being solely responsible for the real estate lifecycle across various projects. I successfully completed a sale-leaseback acquisition for an industrial asset in Fort Lauderdale, achieving favorable financing and lease terms. Additionally, I oversaw a re-tenanting for a restaurant space, and currently working on a ground-up construction project for a pair of single family homes.

Upon earning my masters, I joined Tacombi Holdings which is a restaurant and CPG group focused on expanding to a national footprint. At Tacombi, I focus on the full development cycle including: site selection, analytics, lease negotiation, underwriting, pre-construction, entitlements, and construction. During my time, I've successfully opened locations across various markets including Manhattan, Long Island, Connecticut, Chicago, and Florida. New locations vary from in-line positions to free standing, ground-up construction thereby  requiring complex entitlements including, re-zoning, change of use, and variances; in addition to obtaining liquor licenses for each location.
